These little watercolor moments are some of my favorite pieces to create—quiet, dreamy scenes painted with just a few brushstrokes and a whole lot of intention. Each one feels like a small doorway into a place where light softens, color drifts, and the world slows down. They make the sweetest gifts, tucked into a card or framed as a mini reminder of beauty and calm. Perfect for holiday giving, heartfelt notes, or simply sharing a moment of wonder with someone you love. Join us for The Winter Gar

In watercolor, it’s the smallest gestures that create the deepest magic ✨ A softened edge, a lifted highlight, a carefully placed leaf— each tiny detail shifts the whole wreath into harmony. What begins as loose washes becomes a circle of quiet beauty, proving once again that little details can make the biggest impact 💚 🫶✨The Winter Garden Watercolor Workshop is in 1 week! Unfolding like whispered secrets of autumn — these petals drift between shadow and light, where deep violets dissolve into gold. The colors breathe and tremble, caught between memory and bloom, as if the air itself has taken to painting. Each vein of pigment feels alive—wild, unplanned, yet deeply intentional—like the moment when intuition meets surrender. They are both fierce and fleeting, a song of color that rises and fades, leaving behind only the echo of joy and the hush of stillness. Now i

In watercolor, the foundation layer is where everything quietly begins. Because watercolor is transparent, every wash you place first remains part of the final painting. A foundation layer also preserves luminosity. By letting the white of the paper glow through transparent color, you avoid heaviness and muddiness later on. Perhaps most importantly, the foundation layer gives you freedom. In watercolor, what comes first is never lost. Build from there and you’ll always be happy. ✨January Waterco

Maximize your brush strokes with these simple techniques...Fine line strokes: Hold your brush perpendicular to the page and paint with just the tip for precise, delicate marks.Juicy marks: Press the belly of the brush into the page to release a wide, vibrant stroke.Stamp effect: Press the brush into the page to print its shape like a stamp.Have fun checking these artworks out.All 20 percent off until Mom's Day.https://pamelaharnoisart.etsy.com/listing/1710423019 Link in bio.#brushstrokes #waterc

Painting together for peace isn’t loud or declarative. It’s quieter than that. In uncertain times, painting together becomes a small, steady offering: a reminder that creation is still possible. 🌲In the January workshops, I’ll be doing a lot of evergreen trees in more detail. Don’t forget we do a warm-up session prior to the class. Some seats are available. Hope to see you there.. the link to join in is on my website which can be found on my bio page🌲 #watercolor #watercolour #loosewatercolor

Today, give yourself a moment to wander into color. Let the water drift, let the pigments move, let a small corner of paper become a place where your spirit can breathe again. Paint anything—a whisper of grass, a drifting memory, a wash that fades into soft light. It doesn’t need to be finished or perfect. The simple act of moving color across the page is enough to lift the heaviness, to remind you that you’re still creating, still growing, still alive to beauty. Let your brush carry you somewhe

Because the moment I pick up a pencil, the painting starts to feel planned instead of lived. ✨ I love letting the first wash guide me—how it blooms, how it moves, how it surprises me. 🌲 Those early shapes become the real sketch, fluid and instinctive, not bound by lines that tell me where I should go. When I skip the drawing, I stay open to possibility. I’m responding instead of controlling. For me, that’s where the magic happens. 🥀Next month there’s a 2-part workshop: Dec 6 13 called The Wint

Before painting time, I like to arrive gently ✨ A few warmups—simple lines, loose shapes, a wash of color without intention—help quiet the noise and wake up the hand. It’s not about making something good; it’s about remembering how the brush feels, how water moves, how color breathes on the page. Warmups loosen expectations, soften control, and open the door to intuition. They invite play, curiosity, and permission—so when it’s time to begin, the painting already feels possible. 🎄Reminder: Gift

Look what can unfurl within the silence … a rosebud takes form and transitions from nothing into something. There’s too much noise and distractions in our world and sometimes I just want the magic of silence to bring forth something special. In the quiet it’s just you and your paper and paints. You can almost feel the petal breathing open—soft edges shifting, color awakening, shape emerging as if from a dream. There’s a kind of magic in letting watercolor speak on its own… no background music, n

A holiday tree that gives pure spirit. ✨There’s something magical about letting the paint wander—about watching deep greens bloom, lights flicker into being, and tiny bursts of color shimmer like quiet joy. This little tree feels alive with wonder… a reminder that even in the hush of winter, beauty keeps unfolding. May this season bring you color, warmth, and the sweetest moments of creative pause. 🌲✨ Final Call! The Winter Garden Watercolor Workshop is tomorrow Saturday, December 13th. Link in

When was the last time you listened for what your creativity was whispering? Not the noise of deadlines or to do lists, not the careful arranging of time and tools meant to prove you are working. I mean the subtle things. The ache in your hands for texture. The way your gaze lingers where light rests on branches. That quiet pull when a color appears before it has a name. Perhaps your creativity isn’t asking for structure right now. Perhaps it wants room. Stillness. A long, meandering walk with n

🌸 Peony Reverie 🌸 I’m thrilled to share a new series of single peony paintings featured in the Norfolk Artists 18th Annual Art Exhibit! Each of these nine 12x12” pieces captures the timeless elegance of peonies in full bloom — a celebration of spring’s beauty and the quiet joy it stirs in the garden. With every brushstroke, I’ve tried to hold onto the essence and emotion that peonies bring: soft light, fresh air, and the first blooms that mark the season’s return. Come see the full series in p

When I was a young girl, I would go out into nature to paint with my mom. We would go to the beaches in Barnstable Village and capture some Cape scenes as we would use the big rocks as our easel. Interesting compositions always caught my eye. Our outings always ended with a bag full of shells and small rocks that we brought back home. Those moments spent exploring and painting will always stay with me and will treasure them forever. #watercolorpainting August online workshops at www.pamelaharnoi

Step into the golden hush of autumn, where colors shift and light dances through the trees. Together, we’ll explore how watercolor can capture both the delicate shimmer of falling leaves and the spacious breath of an open landscape. 🍂 Leaves and Landscapes — A 2-Part Watercolor Workshop 🎨 You’ll learn to mix glowing reds, ochres, and greens, to paint leaves with contrast and depth, and to let your brush wander with intuition—finding freedom in looseness and joy in surprise.
