🏈On July 17, 1983 Michigan Panthers quarterback Bobby Hebert hit Anthony Carter with a 48-yard touchdown pass with 3:11 left to beat the Philadelphia Stars 24-22 in the inaugural USFL championship in front of 50,906 fans at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado. Hebert, named the game's MVP, passed for 314 yards and 3 touchdowns. The win gave the the Detroit area its first pro football championship since the Detroit Lions copped the NFL title in 1957.
