Multiple people have been rescued after a seaplane carrying 11 people made an emergency landing Thursday off the coast of Washington, prompting a multi-agency search and rescue operation.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board were at the crash site on June 15, a day after a skydiving plane crashed in Missouri.

A person on the ground saw the moments leading up to the single-engine, four-seat Piper Comanche aircraft that crashed east of Middlefield on June 30, killing the pilot and its two passengers. The person reported that she saw the plane cross above the tree line into her property.
